Come Run and Have Some Fun!

Filed under: News — admin @ 6:32 am

The forecast looks great for a fun-filled day on the Gunflint Trail. Temperatures are expected to be perfect for running with a high near 50 degrees.  Partly sunny skies will shine on the Ham Run Race Participants this Sunday, May 3, 2009.

Last Chance to Participate in a Great Race at a Great Rate!

If you haven’t signed up for the 5k Fun Run then there is still time. Grab your family and your friends for a nice walk or run on the Gunflint Trail this Sunday, May 3, 2009.   Last Chance participants will not receive a free pasta dinner, t-shirt or race bag but can walk or run for only $20.00 payable in cash or check. Stop by the Lake Superior Trading Post from 10am-4pm on Saturday, May 2nd for last chance registration. The forecast looks great so join in the Ham Run Fun and participate in the 5k Fun Run.

Don’t forget your little runts!

The Little Runts Run will be held immediately following the finish of the Half-Marathon, at approximately 1:00pm at the end of the Gunflint Trail. Participants can register for free at the event and the first 50 children will receive a t-shirt donated by Threads of Grand Marais, MN.

The Little Runts Run is a way to promote exercise and fight childhood obesity. Kids ages 2-6 will do a short sprint through the parking lot at the Trail’s End Campground and the 7-10 year olds will run a half of a mile around the campground loop.

Ode to Fishing

Filed under: News — admin @ 5:52 am

I guess the DNR wants everyone to know the Minnesota Fishing Opener is right around the corner.  They have sent out a handful of Press Releases and each one of them contains interesting information about fishing.  It’s kind of like grocery shopping when you’re hungry, a little bit cruel but it still makes your mouth water.

Want to fish? Nothing to it (April 28, 2009)
